Precision Rifle Courses

Precision Rifle 1- Includes basic weapon/optic nomenclature,weapon and optic set-up for your system, set-up to the shooter, discussion on internal ballistics, and introduction to shooting fundamentals. Students will begin filling out a Precision Rifle worksheet to document internal ballistics characteristics of your rifle and ammunition, for use with ballistic calculators. Precision Rifle 1 Packing List plus: 1 pair medium socks and 1 pound of unpopped popcorn to create “shooting socks” (2 sets recommended), one live round of ammunition the student plans to shoot (for disassembly), pen and paper, personal computer or thumb drive (optional). You must supply caliber of your weapon to the instructor BEFORE coming to class. This is a Go/NoGo item.
Precision Rifle 2- External and Terminal Ballistics and Muzzle Velocity: This course consists of a lecture and time on the range with a chronograph. This will complete the Precision Rifle worksheet, which supports developing accurate ballistics tables for your weapon/ammunition combination. Includes introduction to reading and
compensating for wind and MIL ranging. By the end of class, students will have a competed set of ballistics and crosswind tables for their rifles.
Precision Rifle 2 Packing List plus: Rifle/optic and ammunition (5 rounds minimum), shooting socks from PR 1, pen and paper, personal computer or thumb drive (optional).
Precision Rifle 3- Course includes 25 and 100 yard zero, weapon shooting fundamentals, ball and dummy shooting drills, correct use of your optic, identify and record your DOPE for targets ranging out to 350 yards. Includes ongoing reading and compensating for wind and MIL ranging.
Precision Rifle 3 Packing List plus: Rifle/optic and ammunition (40 rounds minimum), shooing socks from PR 1, completed ballistics calculator sheets, pen and paper.
Precision Rifle 4- Effectively engage targets from 500 to 1000 yards. Includes ongoing reading and compensating for wind and MIL ranging, and recording DOPE for these ranges.
Precision Rifle 4 Packing List: Rifle/optic and ammunition (60 rounds recommended), shooing socks from PR 1, completed ballistics calculator sheet (derived from PR worksheet), pen and paper.
Precision Rifle 5- Two-day course that hones your shooting skills, learn camouflage and stalking then combine stalking and shooting skills to eliminate targets.
